Omnitrans purchased 21 compressed natural gas (CNG) transit buses in lieu of diesel-fueled buses. The buses are 40-foot, low floor urban transit coaches and comply will all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The buses are equipped with low-emission CNG engines certified to the California Air Resources Board Optional NOx standard. The NOx emissions from the CNG vehicles are less than one-half the NOx emissions from a new, diesel-fueled bus.

Omnitrans operates in a 480 square mile area of the San Bernardino Valley. The entire county will benefit from the elimination of diesel particulate matter and a reduction in ozone precursor emissions.
This project will reduce approximately 119.3 tons of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions over a twelve year period.
The Final Report includes a vehicle Maintenance Acceptance Report (Attachment A); a Maintenance Work Order Report (Attachment B); and a Schedule of Retrofit Requirements Report (Attachment C).
