Contractor purchased five Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) trolley vehicles with Alternative Fuel Engines (AFEs) already installed. The project is a congestion management measure designed to improve local air quality by reducing discretionary vehicle trips. The trolleys will function in Riverside, California, providing a link between Downtown Riverside and the University of California, Riverside.

The project was operational in downtown Riverside with lines extending from the center of the City to the University of California, Riverside. The benefits of the trolley and its clean air emissions would extend beyond the service area into other sections of the city.
It is estimated that over the projected first four years of the project, emission reductions will be 127.6 tons of Carbon Monoxide, 5.3 tons of Reactive Organic Gases, and 1.5 tons of Particulate Matter.
