Designed a program to encourage commuters to abandon their single occupant vehicle for an electric-assist bicycle. The program was designed to encourage and promote multi-modal commuting by educating the public regarding the various bike-on-bus, train, vanpool and carpool options available. The project promoted electric bicycle technology as an alternative to the automobile for non-commute trips.

The County of San Bernardino was the primary beneficiary, but as stated above, the program, or variations of it, have proven successful in other areas.
The participants logged an average of 91 days of bicycle riding (average one-way trip was 7.2 miles), which totalled 14,436 days of non-vehicle commuting. Based upon this level of participation, the annual reductions were calculated to be: Reactive Organic Gases (ROG), 1,616 pounds per year; Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), 1,696 pounds per year; Carbon Monoxide (CO/7), 2,106 pounds per year; and Particulate Matter (PM10), 585 pounds per year.
