Project Background

Riverside Transit Agency purchased and deployed 15 compressed natural gas (CNG) transit buses. The low emission vehicles were purchased in lieu of conventional diesel vehicles. The buses are 40-foot, low floor urban transit buses equipped with engines certified by the California Air Resources Board at the Optional NOx standard.

Project Implementation

RTA operates CNG buses throughout Riverside County. Therefore, entire county will benefit from reductions in diesel particulate matter and ozone precursor emissions.

Project Results Description

This project will reduce approximately 93.8 tons of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) over a twelve-year period.

Project Status Description

The Final Report includes a detailed vehicle servicing activity report for each vehicle.
