The Los Angeles County MTA purchased 233 compressed natural gas (CNG) transit buses. The vehicles are the North American Bus Industies (NABI)7000 Series High Floor urban bus equipped with the Detroit Diesel Series S50G dedicated natural gas engine. At the time of purchase, this engine was certified by the Califorina Air Resources Board (CARB) at the optional NOx standard. Each bus accrues approximately 42,000 miles annually within the South Coast AQMD jurisdiction.

The estimated annual NOx emissions reductions attributable to this project exceed 23.2 tons. The anticipated life of each vehicle is twelve (12) years.
The Final Report includes an abstract, project summary and conclusions, emissions reduction benefit assessment, as well as a detailed listing of vehicle mileage accrued to date.
