Project Background

The City of Ontario purchased two (2)new dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) refuse collection vehicles. The vehicles are manufactured by Autocar and equipped with the Cummins C8.3G Plus engines, certified by the California Air Resources Board to the Optional Low NOx emission standard. The vehicles are used by the City for recycling collection.

Project Implementation

The residents of the City of Ontario are the principal beneficiaries of this project; however, reductions in ozone precursor emissions benefit all areas within the South Coast AQMD.
