School Districts are Making the Grade When it Comes to Utilizing MSRC Funding

School Districts in the South Coast region are advancing to the head of the class when it comes to applying for Clean Transportation Funding from the MSRC to implement their clean transportation projects. Under the 2012-14 Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Program, six school districts applied for nearly $1 million of the $7.5 million available. Arcadia Unified School District received funding to expand its existing CNG station which opened earlier this year thanks, in part, to MSRC funding. Upland Unified School District also received funding to implement limited-access expansion of its CNG station. Four additional school districts applied during the final week of the infrastructure solicitation, and their applications currently are being reviewed. Two of these school districts have applied for funding to build their first CNG station. This continues an exciting trend from the last work program where six school districts received funding for CNG infrastructure, totaling more than $800,000. These school districts all earn an "A" in "A"ir Quality!
