The particulate filters were installed by Ironman Parts & Service located in Corona, CA. As particulate filters are installed in the vehicle's exhaust system and resemble large mufflers, installation included custom clamps and brackets for each vehicle's specific exhaust configuration.
The City of San Bernardino retrofitted sixteen (16) heavy-duty diesel trucks with CARB-verified diesel particulate filters manufactured by the Donaldson Company.
The City of San Bernardino reports no problems or issues encountered. The diesel particulate filters have been on the road for over one year without any noticeable reduction in vehicle power or performance. The City also purchased a Donaldson pulse cleaner to remove accumulated soot and ash from the particulate filters.
All 16 diesel particulate filters were successfully installed and are operating on a daily basis.
