Contractor established the TaxiLink program which operated as a shared ride taxi from the commuters' homes to the closest Metrolink station. The trips were limited to points within approximately four miles of the Claremont, Pomona, and Covina Metrolink stations. Passengers made advance reservations for pickup and paid $1 for each one-way trip.

The principal areas of this study were the Cities of Claremont, Pomona, and Covina. Emphasis was placed on providing service within a four mile radius of each Metrolink Station.
The taxis were normal street-worthy cabs, not clean air vehicles. The emission reductions realized were from the number of cars which could be left at home or not driven to the Metrolink stations and parked. The taxis serviced over 3,755 passengers during the life of the contract. Emission reductions were not calculated because the number of cars that remained garaged or not operated was unknown.
