The City of Burbank is committed to cleaning the air in the South Coast Air Basin by the use of alternative fuel vehicles in its fleets. When the Citys alternative fuel vehicle program is fully implemented, it will include a fleet of over 100 alternative fuel vehicles. Complimenting the Citys alternative fuel vehicles program is a state of the art compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station which was commissioned for 24-hour public service on April 22, 2002.

Over the next four years, seven (7) additional CNG vehicles will be placed into service. To support the fleet, the City has trained and certified over 100 of its staff on the proper methods of fueling and operating procedures for CNG vehicles. Further information on the scope of the Citys project and its conclusions can be found in its Final Report.
