The City of Hemet is the owner-operator of an Integrated Waste Management (IWM) department that provides refuse and recycling removal for approximately 67,500 residents representing residential, commercial and industrial customers in the city limits of Hemet.

All vehicles have been received and are currently front line vehicles on daily refuse collection routes.
In order to display our commitment as an environmentally responsible entity, as well as to comply with the Air Quality Management Districts Fleet Vehicle Rule 1196, the City of Hemet proposed to purchase one fully-automated side-loader, one front-loader, and one roll-off refuse collection vehicle with the assistance of the Local Government Match Program. Through this purchase, it was our goal to reduce the amount of current deisel vehicle on-road time, begin the conversion to alternative fuel refuse collection vehicles as we continued to meet the demands of refuse collection from growth in the valley.
The City of Hemet has continued to use these vehicles as frontline refuse collection vehicles and has since added additional CNG vehicles to its fleet. Hemet has found that the CNG vehicles perform as well or better than our diesel vehicles in terms of horsepower. We look forward to continuing to meet the
