Project Background

The County of San Bernardino is committed to regional goals of cleaner air and recognizes that cleaner air benefits the health of its citizens and supports projects that reduce emission reductions. Therefore, the County desires to add additional alternative vehicles to its fleet.

Project Implementation

Each of the vehicles funded under this project shall accrue at least 85% of its annual mileage with the geographical boundaries of the South Coast Air Quality Management District.

Project Objectives

The objective of the project was to purchase six (6) liquid natural gas (LNG)heavy-duty vehicles to replace older diesel powered units. Proposed vehicles include LNG water trucks and dump trucks. Ultimately, five (5) LNG vehicles were purchased under the project.
