Several years ago, the City of Cerritos, with the assistance of MSRC co-funding, constructed a slow-fill CNG refueling station at its corporate yard. Additionally, it has previously purchased two CNG fleet vehicles. In it continuing commitment to replace its aging fleet with alterative fuel vehicles, the City is purchasing a third CNG vehicle.

The City prepared specifications, solicited bids, and awarded the contract in accordance with City purchasing policy and procedures.
The purpose of this project was to purchase a Ford F-150 dedicated CNG pick up truck to replace a 1982 GMC gasoline powered truck with a flatbed.
The vehicle was delivered and placed into service on May 17, 2005. The City's CNG fueling structure now in place is limited in scope, and while it meets the needs of the three CNG vehicles, Before purchasing any further vehicles,the City will need to expand its fueling infrastructure.
