Project Background

Contractor purchased four 1998 Ford CNG trucks and a fueling facility. The trucks were assigned as follows: one to Public Works, one to Parks & Recreation, and two to Building and Safety. The fueling facility has one rapid and two slow-fill stations.

Project Implementation

The City of Malibu will be using the vehicles primarily within the City, however, the Parks and Recreation vehicle is scheduled for uses in surrounding areas. As Malibu is on the Pacific Coast, offshore winds will spread the cleaner air inland for some distances. Inland communities will share the benefits of emission free air.
